Job summary

Weston County Health Services (WCHS) is seeking an accomplished Chief Executive Officer to lead its community-owned healthcare system. Reporting to the Board of Trustees, the CEO will provide strategic, operational, financial, and physician leadership for the organization in rural Weston County.

The incoming CEO will guide growth, quality, risk management, and service line development, while strengthening physician recruitment and community partnerships to ensure sustainability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred.
• Five years’ leadership experience with a community healthcare facility of similar size (e.g., independent hospital, rural hospital, or CAH).
• Previous CEO or senior healthcare executive experience with demonstrated responsibility for organizational strategy, operations, and financial performance.
• Demonstrated success in physician recruitment, strategic planning, financial management, performance improvement and organizational growth.
• Strong understanding of healthcare operations, regulatory compliance, quality improvement, reimbursement, and governance.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, relationship-building, and community engagement skills.
• ACHE Fellow or Diplomat status preferred; willingness to reside within Weston County and become an active member of the community strongly preferred.
• Prior hospital turnaround experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic, operational, financial, and physician leadership for the organization.
• Lead overall strategic direction, operational performance, and growth for a rural healthcare system.
• Partner with the Board of Trustees to refine and execute a stabilization plan and long-term vision.
• Strengthen relationships with physicians, employees, and community stakeholders while serving as the public face of WCHS.
• Drive recruitment, service line development, technology advancement, facility improvements, and growth initiatives.
• Ensure regulatory compliance, quality outcomes, risk management, and operational excellence.
• Build and develop a high-performing leadership team with a culture of accountability and service excellence.
