Job summary

Winnebago Comprehensive Healthcare System (WCHS) seeks a visionary Chief Executive Officer to provide strategic, operational, and clinical leadership. The CEO will advance WCHS’s mission, align governance with tribal values, and drive improvements in patient-centered care and community health outcomes.

Collaborating with Tribal leadership, the Board, medical staff, and stakeholders, the CEO will ensure sustainable growth, regulatory compliance, and delivery of culturally respectful services

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Business Administration or similar.
• Extensive experience in Healthcare Management.
• Executive level experience in Indigenous Healthcare preferred.
• Experience with Tribal governments and Tribal leadership is strongly preferred.
• Tribal Healthcare and Self-Governance expertise is advantageous.
• Patient-centered leadership and culture-driven decision making.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Visionary, courageous and change-agent leadership.
• Visible, engaged leadership with staff and community.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the organizational mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with the Board, Tribal Council, and medical staff.
• Align governance, compliance, and contracts with regulatory requirements.
• Recruit, develop, and retain high-caliber leadership and staff across the system.
• Ensure culturally appropriate care and respectful engagement with the Winnebago community.
• Champion community engagement, external relations, and public health initiatives.
• Oversee financial planning, risk management, and operational performance.
• Drive strategic growth, sustainability, and measurable outcomes.
