• Successful physician recruitment, strategic planning, financial management, and growth experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the overall strategic direction, operational performance, financial stewardship, and growth of a respected rural healthcare organization.
• Partner with the Board of Trustees to refine and execute a stabilization plan and long-term vision that advances quality and patient experience.
• Strengthen relationships with physicians, staff, community leaders, and stakeholders while serving as the public face of WCHS.
• Drive physician recruitment, service line development, technology advancement, facility improvements, and strategic growth initiatives.
• Ensure regulatory compliance, quality outcomes, risk management, and operational excellence across the organization.

Kirby Bates Associates has been exclusively retained by Weston County Health Services and their Board of Trustees, to conduct a national search for their next Chief Executive Officer.

Weston County Health Services (WCHS) is a trusted, community-owned healthcare organization dedicated to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care across Weston County and the surrounding region. Governed by a publicly elected Board of Trustees, WCHS is committed to delivering exceptional patient care while advancing the health, well-being, and future healthcare needs of the communities it serves. WCHS consists of a 12-bed hospital, a 58-bed long-term care facility, an emergency department, two clinics, family practice services, and diagnostic imaging.

WCHS seeks an accomplished and visionary healthcare executive to serve as its next Chief Executive Officer. Reporting directly to the Board, the CEO will provide strategic, operational, financial, and physician leadership for the organization, while positioning WCHS for long-term sustainability, growth, and continued community impact.

• Ensure regulatory compliance, quality outcomes, risk management, and operational excellence across the organization.
• Build and develop a high-performing leadership team while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and service excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field preferred.
• Five years' leadership experience with a community healthcare facility of similar size and structure (e.g., independent hospital, rural hospital, or Critical Access Hospital. Nursing Home experience preferred).
• Previous CEO or senior healthcare executive experience with demonstrated responsibility for organizational strategy, operations, and financial performance.
• Demonstrated success in physician recruitment, strategic planning, financial management, performance improvement and organizational growth.
• Strong understanding of healthcare operations, regulatory compliance, quality improvement, reimbursement, and governance.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, relationship-building, and community engagement skills.
• ACHE Fellow or Diplomat status preferred; willingness to reside within Weston County and become an active member of the community strongly preferred.
• Prior hospital turnaround experience preferred.
