Job summary

New Mexico Tech seeks an accomplished Provost and Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs to lead the university's academic and student success missions. As Chief Academic Officer, you will oversee all academic programs, student services, enrollment-related activities, and initiatives aimed at improving retention and graduation rates.

The role requires a terminal degree with tenure, at least 10 years of progressive leadership, and a proven record in accreditation and strategic planning.

Qualifications

• Terminal degree (PhD/EdD) in a relevant field with tenure in a STEM research institution.
• Experience in personnel matters, supervision, and professional development.
• Experience in academic administration, enrollment management, and student support services.
• Budget development and management experience.
• Strategic planning and organizational leadership experience.
• Experience with accreditation processes and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for academic and student affairs and oversee programs, enrollments, student services and support.
• Lead a collaborative partnership of faculty, staff, students, and external partners to promote student success and high scholarship.
• Drive initiatives to reach and sustain R2 status under Carnegie Classification.
• Engage Board of Regents and external stakeholders as a Cabinet member.
