Job summary

HOLMSLEY ELEMENTARY is seeking a Principal in Houston, Texas. The role requires a Master’s degree and a valid administrator certification, with at least four years of administrative experience in public schools, preferably at the elementary level.

Responsibilities include instructional leadership, staff evaluation, budget oversight, and community engagement. The position is probationary/term contract with 220 days, reporting to the Chief Officer for School Leadership.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree required; graduate study preferred.
• Valid standard administrator certification required.
• Demonstrated experience with instructional leadership and teacher appraisal.
• Minimum of four years in administrative or supervisory roles in public schools; elementary experience preferred.
• Exemplary leadership, integrity, collaboration, and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor instructional and managerial processes to ensure program outcomes.
• Consult campus-level committee on planning, operation, supervision, and evaluation.
• Provide instructional resources to staff to meet goals.
• Foster teamwork and staff involvement in decision-making.
• Maintain two-way communication with superintendent, staff, students, families, and community.
• Set expectations for high-level performance and recognize excellence.
• Resolve conflicts effectively and promptly.
• Develop annual campus objectives using the planning process.
• Maintain information systems showing progress on performance indicators.
• Interview, select, and orient new staff; approve campus personnel.
