Job summary

Creighton University Medical Center CHI Health seeks a visionary Chair to lead Pathology & Laboratory Services within an academic health system. You will guide clinical, research, and educational activities and oversee an established department spanning general and specialized diagnostic pathology.

Board-certified pathologist with Nebraska licensure and eligibility for Associate or Full Professor will drive strategic direction, collaboration with CHI Health and the School of Medicine, and growth

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited institution.
• Board certification or eligibility in AP/CP from ABPath.
• Active or eligible Nebraska medical license.
• Credentials for associate professor or professor rank.
• Strong communication and collaboration with healthcare professionals.
• Proven leadership in an academic pathology department.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic, clinical, and administrative leadership for the Pathology department.
• Set strategic direction aligning faculty, operations, and outreach with medical school priorities.
• Collaborate with system leadership to optimize operations, access, and service reliability.
• Support high-quality GME programs and learning environment.
• Expand research and scholarly productivity; secure external funding.
• Recruit, mentor, and retain faculty and staff; build inclusive culture.
