Job summary

CommonSpirit Health, in partnership with Creighton University, seeks an accomplished physician leader to serve as Professor & Chair of Family & Community Medicine. The role will expand clinical, research, and educational activities within a large academic health system.

The Chair will provide strategic direction, collaborate across hospitals and clinics, mentor faculty, and enhance the department’s scholarly output and community impact. Strong leadership and Nebraska licensure are required.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited institution
• Board certification or eligibility from the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM)
• Active or eligible license in the state of Nebraska
• Credentials appropriate for appointment at associate professor or professor (clinical scholar or tenure pathway)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with healthcare professionals
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
• Proven and substantial leadership experience as a collaborative and inclusive leader

Responsibilities

• Provide overall academic, clinical, and administrative leadership for the Department of Family & Community Medicine, setting strategic direction and aligning faculty and clinical operations
• Serve as the Clinical Service Unit Leader within the CHI Health Physician Enterprise
• Support a high-quality GME program and a strong learning environment
• Develop collaborations to advance research, education, and clinical care across the system
• Recruit, mentor, and retain faculty and staff to meet evolving needs of a growing academic health system
• Foster a diverse culture where academic and community physicians collaborate
