Job summary

The City of New York’s Department of Transportation is seeking a Project Coordinator in the Safety Projects and Programs team within RIS to plan and implement Street Improvement Projects focused on Vision Zero and the Bus Action Plan.

Responsibilities include research, crash analysis, field work, outreach to public officials and community boards, and coordination with senior staff to improve pedestrian, cyclist, and transit safety.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and two years of satisfactory full-time experience in city planning.
• A satisfactory combination of education and/or experience equivalent to the above.
• Graduate education may substitute for experience per City policy, but a bachelor’s degree is required.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, design, and implement Street Improvement Projects to improve safety for all users.
• Conduct outreach, meetings with officials and community boards, and coordinate field work.
• Analyze crash data and high-crash locations; prepare reports and maps; provide technical assistance to staff.
