Job summary

joinaegvision is seeking a Vision Therapist to work one-on-one in a clinical setting, delivering structured vision therapy programs for children and adults with developmental delays or brain injury. The role includes planning sessions, conducting therapy, scoring perceptual tests, and handling insurance paperwork.

The position also requires communicating exam findings to patients and families, maintaining therapy spaces, and assisting with scheduling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required for the role.
• Optical industry experience is preferred but not required.
• Strong people/communication and development skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and organize patient sessions in accordance to exam findings and goals.
• Conduct therapy sessions that produce desirable results.
• Assign homework exercises that complement therapy sessions.
• Conduct and score perceptual testing evaluations to determine benefit from therapy.
• Complete proper paperwork to ensure charting complies with insurance regulations.
• Provide patients and parents with clear explanations of exam findings, outcomes, and homework expectations.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of therapy and testing rooms.
• Assist doctors with letters to parents and schools after examinations.
• Participate in workshops to educate patients, parents and professionals about functional vision impacting learning.
• Maintain certification by continuing education.
• Communicate with doctors about patient progress.
• Assist with scheduling and rescheduling of therapy appointments.
• Maintain a high level of care and ongoing growth.
