Job summary

Laitram Machinery, Inc. is seeking a Vision Team Support Technician to provide technical support for electrical and control systems in food processing machinery. You will configure, install programs, and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, IPCs, robots, cameras, and related components.

Responsibilities include performing Factory Acceptance Tests, commissioning equipment, and testing systems. You will create user documentation and assist the engineering team with upgrades, while traveling up to 20% as

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or higher in Electrical Technology or 3+ years in electrical tech.
• Familiarity with PLC logic, Ladder logic, Function Blocks, Structured text.
• Experience with VFDs and asynchronous motors.
• Troubleshoot electrical and controls equipment using multimeters and read electrical diagrams.
• Proficient in Word and Excel; strong written and spoken English.
• Willingness to travel 15–20% including overnight and international trips as required by project needs.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support (configuration, installing programs, troubleshooting) w/ PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, IPCs, Robots, Cameras and other electrical components pertaining to food processing industrial machinery.
• Perform Factory Acceptance Tests, commission and test equipment.
• Troubleshoot control systems and their interfaces remotely and on-site (in-plant).
• Create documentation and training materials for all potential users including but not limited to Laitram Machinery engineers/technicians, customers, and suppliers.
• Assist the engineering team with installation of upgrades and hardware changes to equipment.

Requirements

• Associate's degree or higher in an Electrical Technology field or 3+ year experience working in an electrical technician field.
• Familiarity with PLC logic Ladder logic, Function Blocks, Structured text
• Familiarity with VFD's and asynchronous motors.
• Experience troubleshooting electrical and controls equipment, using multimeters, reading electrical diagrams.
• Ability to learn quickly how to operate and troubleshoot new devices.
• Proficient in Word, and Excel
• Excellent communication skills. Fluent in written and spoken English.
• Interface with a global team of like-minded professionals
• Willingness and ability to travel 15% to 20% of the time, including occasional overnight and international trips as required by project needs.
• Must be able to perform the essential job requirements identified in the Functional Job Description for this position, including the ability to lift 50 pounds
