Qualifications

• Successful completion of the Commonwealth's Vision Rehabilitation Therapist Intern program.
• Bachelor's or master's degree or certificate in rehabilitation teaching of the blind or visually impaired with practicum.
• Active ACVREP CVRT certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Assessment planning: interview, observe, and evaluate customers to tailor instruction.
• Skill instruction: teach coping skills and adaptive techniques for independence.
• Progress monitoring: review progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
• Supportive guidance: provide counseling to reinforce skill development for customers and families.
• Community collaboration: engage with agencies and healthcare providers to meet customer needs.
• Case management: maintain electronic case files including assessments, plans and progress notes.

Education

Bachelor's or Master's degree in rehabilitation teaching of the blind or visually impaired (or related)

ACVREP Certified Vision Rehabilitation Therapist (CVRT) certificate

Completion of Vision Rehabilitation Therapist Intern program
