Qualifications

• Successful completion of the Commonwealth’s Vision Rehabilitation Therapist Intern program, or an approved degree/certificate including practicum.
• Degree or certificate in rehabilitation teaching of the blind or visually impaired with practicum.
• Active ACVREP CVRT certificate required or eligible.

Responsibilities

• Assessment Planning: interview, observe, and evaluate customers to tailor instruction.
• Skill Instruction: teach adaptive techniques in homes, work, and community settings.
• Progress Monitoring: review progress and adjust instruction for benefits.
• Supportive Guidance: provide counseling to reinforce skill development.
• Community Collaboration: coordinate with agencies and providers to meet needs.
• Case Management: maintain accurate electronic case files and reports.
