Job summary

ElderCare of Alachua County Florida, Independence with Low Vision Program is seeking a Certified Vision Rehabilitation Therapist to empower adults with vision loss to regain independence, safety, and quality of life. You will teach activities of daily living, assistive technology, and low-vision strategies through tailored, in-home and mobile sessions across Alachua County.

Qualifications

• CVRT certification required; O&M or Low Vision Therapist certs considered as alternatives
• Minimum internship experience: 350 hours under supervision by CVRT/O&M/Low Vision Therapist/TVI
• AHCA Level 2 background screening required
• Degree in Vision Rehabilitation or related field from an accredited institution is mandatory

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive functional assessments (CFA)
• Develop individualized training plans based on CFA results and client goals
• Provide recommendations for client aids and devices
• Deliver one-on-one and group instruction in home and community settings
• Lead Adjustment to Vision Loss classes and Low Vision Support Groups
• Engage in community outreach and vision rehabilitation education
