Job summary

Clarkson Eyecare in St. Louis, MO is seeking an Optical Technician/Optician to dispense glasses and contacts, take precise measurements, and help patients select frames while supporting the overall patient experience.

No prior eyecare experience is required as training is provided; strong customer service skills and accuracy are essential for daily duties in a fast-paced optical office.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous medical office experience preferred; ophthalmic experience preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year in a customer/patient-facing role.

Responsibilities

• Build relationships with patients while delivering medical support.
• Assist patients in selecting frames according to style and measurements.
• Operate the auto-lensometer and manual lensometer.
• Educate on lenses and frame options to suit needs.
• Take measurements such as bridge, eye size, temple length, PD, pantoscopic tilt.
• Dispense glasses and contacts; manage orders in the system.
• Maintain inventory and keep work area organized.
• Follow policies and complete general office duties as assigned.
