Qualifications

• Approval to teach Visual Impairment (Primary) or Visual Impairment (Secondary) or currently undertaking or currently enrolled in Visual Impairment Primary or Secondary qualifications approved by the NSW Department of Education.
• Demonstrated collaborative communication, organisation and management skills to liaise with a range of school based and outside agency personnel.Knowledge of suitable access technologies, and support training with students, teachers, school learning support officers (SLSOs) and families in the use of specialised equipment and accessibility features built into operating systems of digital technologies.
• Knowledge of and commitment to the Department of Education’s relevant disability policies, and policies supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students for whom you manage vision support programs.
• Conditions An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
