Job summary

AEG Vision in Lincoln, Nebraska is seeking an Optometric Technician to support doctors with patient care, pre-testing, post-exam duties, and scheduling, delivering a professional, pleasant patient experience.

You will perform preliminary patient evaluations, enter data into electronic health records, assist with exams, discuss Lasik referrals, and coordinate follow-up appointments and referrals when needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Basic PC skills including MS Office and Windows.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
• Ability to work well in a team and follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary evaluation of patients prior to exams.
• Enter patient information in Electronic Health Records (EHR).
• Assist doctors to care for patients and manage schedules.
• Explain medical care and schedule follow-ups as needed.
• Discuss Lasik with patients and identify candidates for referrals.
• Maintain HIPAA-compliant patient records and documentation.
