Job summary

Legacy Staffing is seeking a skilled and patient-focused Optician / Optometric Assistant for a healthcare client in Wasco, CA. You will assist patients with eyewear selection, verify prescriptions, perform optical measurements, and support daily department operations.

The ideal candidate has 1–2 years of optical experience, strong customer service, and a commitment to accuracy and compassionate patient care in a fast-paced clinic.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–2 years of optical dispensary/optometric experience preferred.
• Basic computer skills and attention to detail required.
• HIPAA knowledge and patient confidentiality awareness.

Responsibilities

• Verify prescriptions and order accuracy before dispensing eyewear.
• Assist patients in selecting frames suited to lifestyle and prescription needs.
• Take optical measurements including PD; perform fittings and adjustments.
• Maintain frame and contact lens inventory and support insurance processing.
