Job summary

HealthTap is seeking a remote MD/DO to conduct on-demand telehealth video visits, serving patients across all 50 states. You will work 20–40+ hours weekly with 100% remote autonomy and an earned annual compensation range of $100,000–$250,000 depending on hours worked.

Responsibilities include evaluating and treating common acute conditions, chronic care management screening, and documenting in a telehealth EHR.

Qualifications

• MD or DO with board certification in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Emergency Medicine.
• At least four years of hands-on primary or urgent care experience in the U.S.
• Excellent interpersonal and patient communication skills, strong documentation practices, and proficiency with digital health tools.
• Remote work readiness with HIPAA-compliant setup.
• Multi-state licensure status is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality care through video visits using a secure computer in a HIPAA-compliant workspace.
• Evaluate and treat common acute conditions (URIs, UTIs, sore throats, ear and eye infections, refills).
• Evaluate patient eligibility for Chronic Care Management.
• Provide clear health education, recommendations, and follow-up guidance.
• Electronically prescribe non-controlled medications; no DEA/scheduled meds.
• Order labs and prescriptions when appropriate.
• Issue medical/work/school excuses when appropriate.
• Refer patients to local in-person care when necessary.
• Document in telehealth EHR with SOAP templates; no DEA or controlled substances.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate care through video visits using a secure computer in a HIPAA-compliant workspace.
• Evaluate and treat common acute conditions, including upper respiratory illnesses, UTIs, sore throats, ear and eye infections, and prescription refill requests.
• Conduct comprehensive evaluations to determine patient eligibility for Chronic Care Management.
• Provide clear health education, treatment recommendations, and follow-up guidance.
• Electronically prescribe non-controlled medications (no DEA-scheduled or state-controlled medications).
• Order laboratory tests and prescriptions, when clinically appropriate.
• Issue medical, work, and school excuse notes when clinically appropriate.
• Refer patients to local in-person care when necessary.
• Document in a purpose-built telehealth EHR with SOAP templates. No DEA required. No controlled substances.

Required Qualifications

• Education & Credentials: MD or DO with board certification in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Emergency Medicine.
• Experience: At least four years of hands-on primary or urgent care experience in the U.S.
• Clinical Skills: Ability to assess patients efficiently while providing attentive, unrushed care. HealthTap physicians consistently maintain patient ratings above 4.9 out of 5 stars.
• Communication & Technology: Excellent interpersonal and patient communication skills, strong documentation practices, and proficiency with digital health tools.
• Professionalism: Punctual, collaborative, and committed to patient-centered care.

Preferred Qualifications

• Multi-state licensed or possessing an active Letter of Qualification from a state in the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact.
