Job summary

ConvenientMD is expanding its Virtual Urgent Care team in Bangor, ME, offering full-time hybrid roles that combine onsite urgent care with remote virtual shifts. You will evaluate and treat acute concerns via telemedicine, determine safe virtual care versus in-person needs, and coordinate with clinic teams to ensure patient access across markets.

The role emphasizes strong history-taking, excellent communication, and up-to-date telemedicine practices.

Qualifications

• Master's degree from an accredited PA/NP program.
• Current certification through an applicable Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner certifying body.
• Current, unrestricted clinical licensure.
• Current DEA registration without restrictions.
• Current BLS certification.
• Licensure in New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and/or Maine preferred based on current Virtual Urgent Care needs.
• Able and willing to see patients aged 3 years old and up.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat patients via telemedicine.
• Develop appropriate treatment plans using focused history-taking and virtual assessment.
• Recognize red flags and escalate care when needed.
• Direct patients to in-person urgent care or higher levels of care when necessary.
• Provide clear patient education on diagnoses, medications, and follow-up.
• Build trust and compassionate communication, even remotely.
• Collaborate with clinic teams to balance demand across the network.
• Review laboratory, imaging and other diagnostic information when relevant.
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the EMR.
• Communicate with leadership about patient safety and workflow concerns.
• Stay current on telemedicine practices and prescribing guidelines.
• Contribute to a collaborative clinical culture and ongoing improvement.
