Job summary

Arizona Virtual Academy is seeking a state-certified Special Education Teacher to deliver online instruction to students with IEPs in a fully virtual environment. You will provide instruction, support, and guidance, collaborate with parents and related staff, and ensure compliance with IEP and state requirements.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree, an active teaching license, and the ability to work independently from a home office. Travel up to 20% for occasional development may be necessary.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and active state teaching license.
• Ability to clear required background check.
• Ability to travel up to 20% of the time for face-to-face professional development, student testing, and/or as required by the school.
• Experience delivering online instruction and using online learning platforms.

Responsibilities

• Deliver compliant special education services as defined by each student’s IEP.
• Communicate with parents and related staff to ensure therapies are provided.
• Develop compliant IEPs, progress reports and state-required documentation.
• Lead collaborative IEP meetings and coordinate services.
• Use data to monitor progress and prescribe remediation as needed.
• Provide rich synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences for students.
