Job summary

ACCEL Schools seeks an experienced Science Instructional Coach to support 3–10 grade science instruction within our Florida online program. You will work with teachers to implement standards-aligned content and monitor pacing across the school year.

You will analyze data to identify gaps, unpack standards, and guide instructional priorities, collaborating with coaches and leadership to ensure rigorous, mastery-based science education statewide.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of science standards, curriculum, pacing, and assessment across grades 3–10.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Education preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support science teachers in implementing standards-aligned curriculum, pacing guides, and resources.
• Monitor pacing to ensure standards are taught within timelines.
• Collaborate with teachers to track standards introduced, taught, assessed, and mastered.
• Unpack science standards and explain content knowledge, practices, and rigor.
• Review curriculum maps, pacing guides, and resources for alignment with standards.
• Analyze student achievement data to identify gaps and mastery needs.
• Adjust instructional pacing and priorities based on student performance.
• Identify prerequisite concepts and support gaps with actionable plans.
• Maintain vertical alignment across grades 3–10 for concept progression.
• Balance required content with review, intervention, and application of concepts.
• Monitor progress on assessments to evaluate mastery.
• Facilitate planning and data discussions on pacing and coverage.
• Recommend curriculum resources aligned to science standards.
