Job summary

Biweekly Hours: 80.00

Shift: 07:00-1530, 09:00 - 17:30, 11:00 - 19:30

Summary

Provides continuous virtual patient monitoring through a video monitoring system to support patient safety and injury prevention. Maintains direct, ongoing virtual monitoring of one or more patients who may be at risk of falls or harm. Utilizes respectful communication and monitoring technology to engage patients as appropriate and promptly notifies clinical staff of safety concerns or changes in condition. Functions as an integrated member of the interdisciplinary care team. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.

Qualifications

• Required: High School Diploma or passage of a high school equivalency exam. Successfully completes training as prescribed by MetroHealth prior to performing job responsibilities. Demonstrated abilities to maintain sustained attention and situational awareness in a monitoring environment. Basic computer proficiency, including the ability to navigate electronic health record workflows and document accurately. Strong verbal communication skills and ability to communicate clearly and professionally in real time. Ability to follow established protocols and escalation procedures.


• Preferred: Enrollment in or completion of coursework in nursing, pre-med, allied health, psychology, or a related healthcare field. Prior experience in healthcare, patient care support, safety monitoring, behavioral health, or security monitoring environments. Experience working with monitoring technology or centralized observation systems. Familiarity with hospital workflows or electronic documentation systems.


• Physical Requirements: Ability to sit for extended periods while maintaining attention to patient activity Ability to see in the normal visual range with or without correction. Ability to hear in the normal range with or without correction. Ability to communicate face-to-face, phone, email, and other communications. Ability to read job related documents.
