Job summary

The MetroHealth System in Cleveland, OH, is seeking a continuous virtual patient monitoring professional to support patient safety and injury prevention. You will monitor patients who may be at risk of falls or harm using a video monitoring system and engage with patients in real time to escalate concerns as needed.

Qualifications

• Required: High School Diploma or passage of a high school equivalency exam.
• Successfully completes training as prescribed by MetroHealth prior to performing job responsibilities.
• Demonstrated abilities to maintain sustained attention and situational awareness in a monitoring environment.
• Basic computer proficiency, including the ability to navigate electronic health record workflows and document accurately.
• Strong verbal communication skills and ability to communicate clearly and professionally in real time.
• Ability to follow established protocols and escalation procedures.
• Preferred: Enrollment in or completion of coursework in nursing, pre-med, allied health, psychology, or a related healthcare field.
• Prior experience in healthcare, patient care support, safety monitoring, behavioral health, or security monitoring environments.
• Experience working with monitoring technology or centralized observation systems.
• Familiarity with hospital workflows or electronic documentation systems.

Responsibilities

• Provides continuous virtual patient monitoring through a video monitoring system to support patient safety and injury prevention.
• Maintains direct, ongoing virtual monitoring of one or more patients who may be at risk of falls or harm.
• Utilizes respectful communication and monitoring technology to engage patients as appropriate and promptly notifies clinical staff of safety concerns or changes in condition.
• Functions as an integrated member of the interdisciplinary care team.

Shift: 07:00-1530, 09:00 - 17:30, 11:00 - 19:30
