Job summary

California Virtual Academies in California's online charter network seeks a Middle School Teacher, Departmentalized to deliver standards-aligned instruction in a virtual setting for grades 6-8.

The role requires a California teaching credential with subject authorization, a Bachelor's degree, and the ability to engage students remotely, track progress, and collaborate with a team. Full-time hours are Mon-Fri 8:30-4:00 with benefits.

Qualifications

• Residence in California is required at time of applying.
• Bachelor's degree and teaching credentials as listed are required.
• Strong content knowledge and ability to support adults and students.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications and professional communication.

Responsibilities

• Instruct students in your subject area as part of a four-teacher pod.
• Develop, assign, and review quarterly/semester coursework aligned to standards.
• Provide daily instruction to individuals and small groups using data-informed practices.
• Monitor attendance, participation, and progress and adjust instruction as needed.
• Communicate with families regarding progress and support strategies.
• Proctor state testing and participate in school activities and orientations.
