Job summary

Jefferson Classical Academy of Florida, part of ACCEL Schools, is seeking online teachers for K–8 with Florida certification and strong special education background. The role requires virtual instruction with periodic in-person testing events and occasional travel to support student activities.

Applicants should have a Master's degree preferred, MTSS familiarity, and excellent communication skills. This remote position serves Florida residents with statewide testing support.

Qualifications

• Master's degree preferred.
• 3+ years teaching, at least 2 in special education.
• Current Florida teaching certification/licensure.
• Strong content knowledge in relevant subject areas.
• Familiarity with state proficiency testing standards.
• Understanding of MTSS process.
• Experience with diverse student populations.
• Excellent written/verbal communication.
• Genuine care for children and passion for teaching.
• Proficiency with Google Docs, MS Office, email, and internet.
• Experience with IDEA compliance software (Power School Special Programs).
• Ability to learn new technologies independently.
• Ability to analyze student data to inform decisions.
• Handle confidential information responsibly.
• Willingness to work occasional evenings.
• Valid driver's license; travel locally/in-state.
• Pass background checks.
• Knowledge of co-teaching models.

Responsibilities

• Assist with implementing IEPs for each student.
• Write IEPs in a timely manner.
• Participate in MTSS.
• Maintain all student records according to mandates.
• Complete paperwork within timelines.
• Complete progress reports as required.
• Write lesson plans to accommodate IEP goals.
• Teach all subjects following course of study.
• Schedule and participate in IEP meetings.
• Prepare and administer standardized tests and assessments.
• Collaborate with staff to improve testing results.
• Maintain confidentiality of student information.
• Keep accurate grade books, progress and attendance records.
• Collaborate with parents, teachers, psychologists and other professionals.
• Work with Related Services to keep evaluations current.
• Provide resources for classroom teachers.
• Attend/chaperone school activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Attend professional development as assigned.
