Job summary

ACCEL Schools seeks a qualified School Counselor to support social, emotional, and academic development for students at Alabama Virtual Classical Academy in Sylacauga. The role leverages online platforms and outreach methods to deliver proactive counseling and comprehensive student support.

Responsibilities include guiding curricula, reviewing transcripts, maintaining graduation and career plans, and providing 504 plans.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required and one year of counseling/advisement experience or equivalent
• State Counselor license required or eligible for Alabama licensure
• Experience with ASCA model and K-12 online learning preferred
• Proficient in MS Office and Google Suite; strong communication skills
• Ability to handle confidential information responsibly and make sound judgments

Responsibilities

• Deliver proactive guidance curriculum to individuals and groups
• Respond to student needs with counseling and programming
• Review transfer transcripts and inform course placements
• Maintain transcripts and inform credit awards; create graduation plans
• Provide career readiness curriculum and facilitate career planning
• Deliver Social-Emotional Learning curriculum; create 504 plans
• Analyze student data for appropriate programs and interventions
• Travel within Alabama to support testing and events
• Collaborate with staff and families to support student success
• Perform other duties as assigned
