ACCEL Schools seeks an Academic Mentor to provide high-dosage tutoring to high school students in a virtual setting. The role supports targeted English and math instruction, using provided materials to close gaps and accelerate growth. Travel for state testing and events will be required a few times per year.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; teaching degree or certification not required.
• Experience with high school students and tutoring/mentoring preferred.
• Strong communication, organization and interpersonal skills.
• Comfortable using technology and virtual learning platforms.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-dosage tutoring to high school students in small groups.
• Deliver targeted support in English, mathematics, and core subjects based on data.
• Use provided instructional materials to reinforce learning and address skill gaps.
• Build positive relationships to promote student engagement and persistence.
• Monitor attendance, participation and academic progress; document data.
• Communicate progress and concerns with teachers and school leadership.
• Participate in training and follow school procedures for student safety and confidentiality.
