Salary: $94,000-$140,000

The Weitz Company is seeking a VDC Manager. The successful candidate will initially be based in Denver, CO, with a subsequent assignment to a project in Telluride, CO, beginning in Q2 2025 and continuing through the project's completion. Once the project concludes, the candidate will return and be located out of the Denver, CO office.

The VDC Manager is responsible for managing VDC operations on a construction project, including execution of modeling, photography, and other emerging technologies. This role ensures workflows amongst project teams are streamlined and enhances VDC use on assigned project(s). The VDC Manager typically reports to the Senior VDC Manager.

What You'll Do:
  • Leverage 3D, 4D, and 5D digital content and assets to direct the design, management, and implementation of VDC systems.
  • Ensure workflows are streamlined between all departments involved in a project.
  • Collaborate with the learning and development team to lead VDC training sessions.
  • Test, plan, and direct implementation of new software and hardware as approved by VDC leadership.
  • Produce VDC estimates and cost analysis, as requested.
  • Manage and promote areas where VDC can enhance product line expectations.
  • Propose improvements to support companywide strategic initiatives.
  • Maintain VDC standards and best practices according to industry knowledge.
  • Analyze metrics to identify areas for improvement and propose solutions.
  • Participate in negotiations with vendors, suppliers, and service providers.
  • Promote the company's reputation as an industry leader in operational excellence and innovative problem solving.
  • Participate in marketing and business development initiatives; promote VDC capabilities.
  • Present VDC capabilities to owners, architects, and project teams as needed.
  • Stay updated on the latest software and technology; identify areas for improvement.
  • Mentor team members, delegate tasks, and recommend disciplinary actions when necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For:
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in architectural services, construction, or manufacturing, including at least two (2) years in VDC/BIM management. LEAN principles experience is desirable. OSHA 10 or 30 certification or willingness to obtain it.
  • Skills: Initiative, judgment, analytical and organizational skills, attention to detail, communication, time management, flexibility, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Education: Industry-related bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Technology: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and a general understanding of VDC software like Sketchup, Fuzor, Infraworks, Adobe Suite. Ability to learn other software such as JDE, Procore, Bluebeam, and scheduling software.
  • Experience with Drones (FAA Part 107 Certificate), LiDAR scanning, reality capture, and data utilization.
