Interstates is seeking a Virtual Design and Construction Drafter (VDC Tech) to create models and drawing sets using established Interstates standards. The role collaborates with internal and external teams to learn best practices and incorporate design decisions into deliverables.

Travel up to 15% is expected, and pay ranges from $25/hr to $32/hr with benefits. Qualifications include a high school diploma or a two-year degree, plus 1–2 years in virtual design or related technical fields.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or an A.A./A.S. from a two-year college or technical college is required.
• Candidates with 1–2 years of virtual design, construction, or related technical field experience preferred.
• Ideal candidates will have foundational experience with virtual modeling software, construction documentation, or technical design applications.

Responsibilities

• Create deliverable sets based on direction from others by navigating systems and tools efficiently.
• Learn tool functionality by researching and leveraging mentorship and other resources.
• Continuously improve methods and efficiency by collaborating with others.
• Modify models, data, or drawing sets based on direction from others.
• Communicate effectively using virtual and in-person collaboration tools with internal and external teams.
• Apply model and scope changes by adjusting deliverables as required.
• Document and archive revisions by adhering to established procedures.
• Follow project workflows and standards to meet deliverable requirements and schedules.
• Perform self-checks to identify and correct errors and deviations from best practices.
• Assist in peer reviewing others' work to ensure compliance with standards.
• Self-perform advanced design tasks with direction.
• Provide continuous improvement suggestions for tools and processes.
• Work with manufacturing and construction teams to deliver constructable design.
