Job summary

Foothills Education Charter High School is seeking a Daytime Virtual Foothills Social Worker to support students in a Georgia-based online program. This part-time role collaborates with Student Services, conducts virtual counseling, and tracks referrals and attendance data to help students stay engaged.

The position requires a Master’s degree with a Georgia social worker certificate and availability 11:00 am–4:00 pm.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher with a valid Georgia social worker certificate.
• High school social work experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders in the virtual instruction program in written and oral form, including electronic media, using positive interpersonal skills.
• Experience with a virtual learning environment preferred.
• Availability from 11:00 am – 4:00 pm.

Responsibilities

• Help all students overcome barriers so they may participate in school regularly and be successful.
• Collaborate with Student Services team to monitor identified students. Develop intervention strategies to help them return to school.
• Counsel with students and parents as needed; help families cope with economic struggles.
• Conduct virtual small group and individual sessions with students and parents/guardians.
• Track data on agency referrals, McKinney-Vento referrals, suicide protocol and attendance concerns.
• Contribute to monthly Student Services newsletter with updates on self-care, mindfulness, wellness strategies, etc.
• Provide virtual crisis counseling services as requested by Counselor, Site Administrator, or any Foothills staff.
• Generate a resource list for students and families.
• Work with student services on drop-out prevention and other programs.
• Assist in creating transition plans for hospitalized students.
• Serve as liaison between Foothills and agencies as needed.
• Record all contacts in the Contact Log in Infinite Campus.
• Present at virtual staff meetings to build social-emotional capacity for employees.
• Meet performance and behavioral expectations of the Site Director.
• Comply with FERPA requirements for the virtual environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Site Director.
