Minimum Qualifications
Education/Training

Board Certified Behavior Analyst (certified through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board)

Experience

Specialized training and/or experience in basic applied behavior principles, including plan implementation, data collection, behavior interventions/replacement behaviors, and risk identification/amelioration.

Two years' experience with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities.

Continuing Education: Documented completion of 10 hours of annual training related to behavior supports through courses, seminars, conferences, or training provided by the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities.

Responsibilities:
  1. Model and train staff in Positive Behavior Support methodology principles and practices.
  2. Serve as a member of Interdisciplinary Teams (IDTs), providing expertise on behavioral issues.
  3. Assess, design, train, monitor, and report on Behavior Plans.
  4. Conduct behavioral assessments, including functional analyses, and interpret results.
  5. Provide direct behavioral treatment, including skills training and crisis de-escalation, in all applicable settings.
  6. Participate in on-call rotation for behavior issues.
  7. Monitor restraint use and provide training to reduce it.
  8. Monitor challenging behaviors.
  9. Participate in relevant committees such as the Behavior Intervention and Human Rights Committees.
  10. Provide individualized services to meet the treatment needs of each patient, complying with 902 KAR 20:410.
  11. Follow all policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
Language Skills

Ability to read and understand instructions, write simple correspondence, and effectively communicate in small group and one-on-one settings.

Reasoning Ability

Apply common sense to carry out instructions, solve problems involving concrete variables, and make independent decisions with good judgment.

Physical Demands

Meet physical demands as described in Essential Demands; participate in crisis management procedures.

Work Environment

Work environment characteristics as described; accommodations available as needed.

Education

Doctoral or Master's Degree in Psychology, Counseling, or related discipline. BCBA certification is required.

Computer Skills/Data Entry

Ability to record and enter data accurately and neatly, consistent with Oakwood requirements.

Additional Information:

Must be a BCBA licensed in Missouri.

Salary Range: USD $50.00/Hour
