Qualifications

Tutors deliver engaging, standards-aligned instruction in programming, algorithms, and computational thinking, helping students build mastery, confidence, and readiness for college-level computer science coursework.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality AP Computer Science tutoring in a virtual, one-on-one setting
• Personalize instruction using assessments and student progress data
• Build supportive relationships that motivate students and foster confidence in problem-solving
• Teach topics including programming fundamentals (Java or Python), algorithms, data structures, computational thinking, and AP CS course content (A or Principles)
• Support exam preparation, coding projects, and real-world application problems
• Collaborate with educators, coaches, and families to align tutoring with course requirements
• Demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and cultural responsiveness at all times

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science required
• Certified teacher of Computer Science
• Strong working knowledge of the AP Computer Science curriculum (Java/programming fundamentals, or AP CS Principles concepts, depending on course)
• Prior experience tutoring or teaching AP-level students preferred
