Job summary

iSchool Virtual Academy is seeking a Placement Specialist to promote student success through academic planning and transcript analysis. You will collaborate with counselors, students, parents, teachers, and administrators to develop individualized graduation plans and monitor schedules in the virtual environment.

Responsibilities include updating records, coordinating with families, and supporting testing programs and staff development.

Responsibilities

• Accurately reviews academic records to maintain accuracy in transcript entry and scheduling.
• Manages assigned programs and projects independently including initial setup, communication, and program maintenance.
• Conference calls with families and students to assist in developing graduation plans individualized for each student.
• Accurately and consistently update information regarding a student's schedule, graduation plan, and post high school plans in appropriate platforms.
• Demonstrate ownership and responsibility for your caseload to ensure schedules are accurate and students stay on track for graduation.
• Ensure all academic records are received from prior districts to develop accurate graduation plans.
• Follow up on missing or incomplete records for a student.
• Ensure all communication is returned and delivered in a timely manner to parents, students, colleagues, and supervisors.
• Document communication with students and parents in required format and platform.
• Support standardized testing programs, parent education, and staff development.
• Meet deadlines provided by superiors and engage in training opportunities.
• Continue to extend knowledge in technology and counseling topics.
• Attend staff meetings, professional development, and school activities as assigned.
• Assist with gathering and tracking data for projects including At-Risk, graduation plans, endorsements, and course selections.
• Provide support to counselors, administrators, teachers, staff, and parents.
• Support packing/shipping graduation materials.
• Support graduation planning for iSVA graduating class.
• Support Enrollment team and Executive Director with special projects involving data analysis.
• All other duties as assigned.
