Job summary

The South Carolina Department of Public Health seeks a laboratory professional to perform high complexity testing in virology, rabies, and wastewater analysis. You will conduct dPCR, molecular and serological assays, and maintain strict quality control per CLIA guidelines.

The role involves on-call weekend/holiday rotation for outbreak investigations, technical consultation, and adherence to SOPs. A biological sciences or medical technology degree is required, with additional vaccination health

Qualifications

Qualified to perform high complexity clinical testing under CLIA.
Ability to read and comprehend instrument manuals, package inserts and procedure manuals.
Excellent written and verbal communication with customers and agency staff.

Responsibilities

Performs complex lab procedures for identification of pathogens in wastewater.
Performs Rabies DFA on animals for surveillance and related molecular/serological assays.
Maintains quality control/assurance per SOPs and CLIA'88 standards.
Provides technical consultation to clinicians, laboratory staff, and public health personnel.
