Job summary

Cape Fox Facilities Services is seeking an experienced Senior Veterinary Pathologist, Pathology Core Chief to support the Office of Chief Scientist - Integrated Research Facility (OCSIRF) within the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases at the Frederick facility.

The Pathology Core will provide pathology, histology and clinical pathology support for animal studies and organoid/organ-chip programs.

Qualifications

Provide pathology support for animal studies, including necropsy and histology.
Experience with immunohistochemistry, in situ hybridization and special stains.
Ability to generate comprehensive written reports and manuscripts.

Responsibilities

Provide pathology services to support animal studies, such as assisting the Federal Task Leader to manage a team of pathology, histology and clinical pathology professionals to support necropsy and histology research efforts.
Coordinate pathology and histology support with research staff and perform postmortem examinations in a BSL-4 containment laboratory.
Offer expertise in necropsy, histopathology, lab operations, digital pathology, and report development.
Assist the Federal Task Leader with managing a team of pathology, histology and clinical pathology professionals.
Develop comprehensive written reports and support manuscript preparation.
