Job summary

GeniusMesh seeks a Director of State Government Relations to lead engagement with Virginia state and local governments. You will monitor legislation, advise on regulatory impacts, and advocate for the Group with officials and staff at multiple levels.

The role requires a deep understanding of Virginia policy, a robust track record in public affairs, and the ability to identify and pursue grant opportunities with state authorities.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of Virginia state laws, regulations and government policy.
• Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Law, Business or related field; Master’s preferred.
• 10+ years of public policy or lobbying experience; proven advocacy before state legislatures, agencies and local governments.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, analyze and report on proposed state and local legislation, regulation and policy affecting the Group’s businesses.
• Advise Group businesses and U.S.-based offices on regulatory impacts under CLO direction.
• Represent the Group before state and local governments, councils, legislators and staff; advocate for Group businesses.
