Job summary

CRH Americas Materials is seeking a Sales Director to lead the Virginia unit's sales strategy and team execution across aggregates, hot mix asphalt, and construction services. You will develop accounts, strengthen customer partnerships, and drive profitable growth with market insight and leadership.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent education from a two-year college or technical school is preferred.
• Two to four years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and understand documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to prepare routine reports and communicate effectively with customers and employees.

Responsibilities

• Help shape and execute the strategic plan for the Virginia business unit.
• Develop and guide sales policies, practices, and expectations that support company goals and team success.
• Partner with operations and production teams to help ensure customers receive the quality, quantity, and service they expect.
• Support the recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing development of sales team members.
• Create clear, meaningful development plans that help team members grow in their roles.
• Set clear expectations, provide guidance, and empower team members to take ownership of their responsibilities.
• Lead forecasting, budgeting, and reporting activities that support effective business planning.
• Stay informed on construction activity across the territory and use market insight to identify growth opportunities.
• Understand product specifications and recommend opportunities that create value for customers and the business.
• Identify and communicate issues that could affect product availability or customer commitments.
• Represent the Virginia business unit through industry committees, associations, and community relationships.
• Monitor market and competitor activity and recommend actions that help the business remain competitive.
• Build trusted customer relationships by delivering quality products, dependable service, and strong overall value.
