Job summary

NC State Highway Patrol in North Carolina is seeking a Maintenance/Construction Technician IV (S) to install, relocate, maintain and repair secondary underground electric distribution lines to support VIPER sites statewide. The role involves 350KW standby generators, switchgear, transformers, and related equipment, with strong emphasis on safety and independent work.

The position requires the ability to read blueprints, follow instructions, and coordinate with vendors, with occasional long hours

Qualifications

• Knowledge of standard practices of the electrical trade.
• Skill in using and caring for trade tools.
• Ability to locate and repair defects in electrical systems and equipment.
• Ability to read and work from blueprints and sketches.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.

Responsibilities

• Construct, relocate, and maintain secondary underground electric distribution lines and related components to support VIPER sites statewide.
• Install, maintain, and repair electrical system components, including up to 350KW standby generators, switchgear, transformers, and associated equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
