AVA Garden Bar in St. Louis blends upscale nightclub energy with an outdoor oasis, offering creative programming and a vibrant guest experience. This VIP Server role focuses on delivering outstanding service, upselling cocktails, and guiding guests through a dynamic menu in a fast-paced setting.

Ideal candidates bring at least 1 year of serving in a busy venue, fluency in English, and a friendly, professional demeanor. Shifts may include nights and weekends in a lively Ballpark Village location.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of serving in a fast paced food and beverage venue, preferably nightclub environment; knowledge of liquor brands, beer, wine and garnishments.
• Must meet state legal age requirements.
• Must speak fluent English; other languages preferred.
• Must be courteous, pleasant and good natured.
• Strong communication skills with guests, bartenders and staff.
• Alcohol awareness certification or valid food service permit as required locally.
• Reading and writing abilities used for orders and paperwork.
• Basic math skills for cash handling.
• Weekend/night work may be required.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and take beverage and food orders promptly.
• Serve cocktails and menu items; up-sell when taking orders.
• Maintain energetic, outgoing, professional demeanor at all times.
• Communicate clearly with coworkers and kitchen staff; use POS system.
• Monitor guest age and alcohol service; report incidents.
• Be knowledgeable about all menu items to guide guest experience.
• Complete all side work and account for sales and payments.
• Coordinate with bartenders/kitchen for orders, ensure guest satisfaction.
• Promote teamwork and service across departments.
