Job summary

Insomniac is hiring a Part-time Seasonal VIP Back of House Crew in San Bernardino, CA to execute VIP design elements and support the VIP Decor/Lights teams. You will follow detailed drawings, perform basic carpentry and painting, and help maintain VIP assets across events.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in art/ carpentry, festival production experience, and a valid US driver license plus passport. Expect long hours in loud, dynamic venues with travel to events as needed.

Qualifications

• 2+ years art department and/or carpentry experience.
• Festival and/or film production experience strongly preferred.
• Tool kit including basic hand and power tools.
• Valid US driver license and passport.
• Ability to operate equipment such as forklift, boom lift, scissor lift, etc.
• Highly motivated with superior interpersonal communication skills.
• Knowledge of web and mobile tech and two-way radios.
• Working mobile device, preferably smartphone.
• Constant walking, stairs, lifting up to 75lbs, 8+ hours daily.
• Willing to work during holidays, evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Load-in and load-out of design elements and props.
• Install custom environments per drawings.
• Assist with 3rd party vendor operations as needed.
• Support VIP Decor and Lighting teams as required.
• Follow drawings to install elements; perform basic carpentry/painting.
• Repair and maintain VIP assets; assemble/dismantle stage equipment.
• Use hand/power tools and material handling equipment.
• Communicate updates to crew leads; ensure safety compliance.
• Operate and maintain work areas; travel to events as needed.
• Diagnose issues, replace parts, perform adjustments, report defects.
