ABOUT CHIEF'S

Chief's is a six-story bar and live music venue celebrating the ever-expanding musical legacy of Eric Church. Located in the heart of downtown Nashville, Chief's features a ticketed music venue, inspirational interiors, and a distinct focus on original live performances-offering fans an unmatched entertainment experience in Music City. The venue includes a broadcast studio, home to Church's Outsiders Radio on SiriusXM, with capabilities to host programming from a range of media partners. Culinary offerings are in collaboration with James Beard Award–winning pitmaster Rodney Scott, available throughout the space. On the fifth floor, Redemption Bar, a new concept developed with award-winning artist Ashley McBryde, is dedicated to spotlighting original music and emerging talent. Chief's is located at the corner of 2nd Avenue and Broadway.

ABOUT THE ROLE

VIP Bartender duties are to focus on interaction with guests, co-workers, and the leadership team, to drive memorable experiences and ensure responsible alcohol sales at all times. Duties also include knowledge of all liquor, wine, and beer served in the venue and ensuring that knowledge can elevate the guest experience while maximizing beverage sales. Bartenders at all times are to set an example of hospitality and service while assuming full responsibility for day-to-day bar service, maintenance, cleanliness and organization.

Tasks include, but are not limited to:

  • Maximize sales by recommending items and upselling, using extensive working knowledge of all food and beverage offerings
  • Use extensive menu knowledge to communicate effectively with guests on ingredients, preparation methods, and allergens
  • Follow all Steps of Service and brand standards
  • Create a hospitable, welcoming, and memorable experience for all guests
  • Ensure all Federal, State and City laws and ordinances are followed with regards to the handling and responsible sale of alcoholic beverages
  • Proper handling of cash, credit cards and end of shift financial reporting
  • Serve all alcohol in proper containers and adhere to all pricing
  • Serve all food in proper containers and adhere to all pricing
  • Attend trainings as mandated by the Leadership team
  • Maintain a well-groomed, professional, and polished appearance
  • Keep working knowledge of Chief's brand, history, culture, and programming
  • Navigate venue conditions, including tight spaces, dark rooms, and loud environment
  • Ensure all spaces are set according to plans
  • Maintain daily inventories behind all bars at both the beginning and end of shift
  • Maintain an organized and clean workspace
  • Ensure that work areas are properly supplied for operational success
  • Maintain positive guest engagement and create memorable experiences
  • Take initiative, follow-through on requests until completion, and utilize a keen attention to detail
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Leadership team
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum 21 years of age
  • Prior bartending experience in a nightclub setting
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, results-oriented restaurant/bar/venue environment
  • Extensive knowledge of beer, wine, spirits, and cocktails
  • Must have a valid TABC card
  • Exceptional guest service and hospitality skills
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and work ethic
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; able to work both as a team and independently
  • Must be able to communicate in English with guests and other team members
  • Must have the ability to withstand high temperatures, heat and sun
  • Must adhere to both company and department specific policies and procedures
  • Embrace company culture and take pride in the venue and amenities
  • Ability to take direction, and communicate effectively and professionally
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends and holidays
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to perform physical requirements of position including standing for extended periods of time, kneeling, stooping, using stairs, able to lift loads of up to 50 lbs.
  • Able to work rapidly, especially during peak periods to ensure that all guests are being serviced properly and necessary operational tasks are being completed in a timely manner
  • Ability to sustain loud noise volume
