Job summary
Comlux America, based in Indianapolis, seeks an Interiors Design Engineer to develop certifiable VIP interior modifications and STC projects. You will create 2D drawings and 3D models, perform analysis, and prepare certification data packages.
You will coordinate with Production, Certification, and Quality teams to ensure regulatory compliance and on-time delivery. Strong CAD skills and aviation experience are essential for success.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, mechanical, electrical engineering or related field; or 5 years in aviation component, interior or systems design.
- 0-5 years engineering experience in aircraft completions, aerospace, aviation, aircraft modification, certification, or related field.
- Experience with interior completion projects, STC development, modifications, or transport category certification.
Responsibilities
- Develop and support engineering designs for VIP interior completions, refurbishments, modifications, and STC projects.
- Create and review 2D drawings and 3D CAD models.
- Perform analysis and substantiation for interior furnishings, structures, and systems.
- Prepare reports, certification data packages, and installation instructions.
- Coordinate with Production, Certification, Quality, and suppliers to execute projects.
- Resolve discrepancies during installation and manufacturing challenges.
