Job summary

Settlement Music School in Philadelphia seeks a dedicated Suzuki-trained violinist to join the Tapestry Program at the Wynnefield and Mary Louise Curtis Branches. Teaching can range from a few hours a week to upwards of 15 hours, with afternoon, evening, and Saturday slots.

The faculty handle registration, scheduling, financial aid, billing, student absences, recital support, and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in music performance or music education with a violin concentration.
• SAA registered training for Pre-Twinkle and Book 1 in violin or viola; willing to teach 2-3 days.

Responsibilities

• Foster a positive learning environment and rapport with students and families.
• Attend Annual Faculty Meeting in September (paid).
• Attend Monthly Tapestry Faculty Meetings (paid).
• Engage in the work and mission of Settlement Music School.
• Belief in diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging in music education.
