Job summary

Wine Industry Expo is seeking a Vineyard Foreman to coordinate daily vineyard operations and supervise staff across multiple sites in California. This hands-on leadership role emphasizes safety, recordkeeping, and efficient task completion.

You will oversee planting, pruning, irrigation, harvesting, pest management, and erosion control while guiding a diverse team and maintaining equipment readiness. Strong English/Spanish communication is required.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years in a vineyard or related agricultural field.
• 2+ years in leadership or supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of vineyard practices, including vine care, irrigation, pest management, and harvest techniques.
• Fluent English and Spanish.
• Ability to complete clear, accurate records.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screening.
• Outdoor work in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily vineyard activities including planting, pruning, irrigation, harvesting and pest management.
• Lead, train, and guide vineyard employees, assign tasks, monitor progress.
• Maintain vines and crops, monitor soil and irrigation, ensure tools are used properly.
• Prepare and review timecards; verify ranch codes, clock-ins, hours, and discrepancies.
• Prepare work areas, ensure tools, water, restrooms, and report hazards.
• Assist frost protection measures with wind machines and sprinklers.
• Coordinate harvest schedules and supervise picking crews.
• Inspect vines for pests or disease; report findings.
• Maintain accurate daily records and paperwork.
• Enforce safety and proper chemical handling.
• Monitor equipment and inventory; ensure safe use.
• Coordinate with management on staffing, equipment, and operations.
