Job summary

Belton Chalet by Pursuit in West Glacier, Montana, is seeking energetic international students for the role of Cook 1 (Prep Cook). You will learn real culinary skills from experienced chefs while using fresh Montana ingredients, handling vegetables, proteins, sauces, soups and salads according to recipes.

The position offers 35 hours per week with opportunities for additional hours during peak season, employer-assisted housing nearby, meals during shifts, and employee discounts across Pursuit

Qualifications

• Must be a university student aged 18–25 with J-1 Work & Travel sponsorship.
• No professional kitchen experience required; willingness to learn.
• Ability to stand long shifts and lift up to 20 kg.
• Conversational English and good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare vegetables, proteins, sauces, soups, and salads according to recipes and chef instructions.
• Set up and stock workstations before and during service.
• Assist line cooks during busy breakfast and dinner services.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and HACCP standards at all times.
• Receive and properly store deliveries, rotate stock, and monitor inventory.
• Keep the kitchen, walk-ins, and equipment spotless and organized.
• Support the team wherever needed – kitchens run on teamwork!

At Belton Chalet by Pursuit in West Glacier, Montana, that's just an ordinary day. This historic 1910 chalet sits at the doorstep of Glacier National Park – one of America's most breathtaking wild places – and we're looking for energetic international students to join our kitchen team as a Cook 1 (Prep Cook).
