WICS in Springfield, IL is seeking a News Videographer/Editor to shoot video and interviews for on-air broadcasts and social media, telling stories with creativity under deadline pressure. The ideal candidate will edit newscasts using Avid, perform non-linear editing, and follow scripts precisely while working flexible shifts, including overnights, weekends, and holidays.

A valid driver’s license and good driving record are required. Videographers are issued company vehicles.

Job description

WICS has an exciting opportunity for a Videographer\\Editor. WICS is seeking a News Videographer/Editor to create visually engaging images for both on-air broadcast and social media. Candidates must have self-driven creativity and a passion for visual storytelling. They will use these skills to tell stories daily. In addition to shooting video and interviews, the ideal candidate will also be able to edit newscasts using Avid. All duties must be performed in a timely manner in a deadline-driven, fast-paced environment. You must be detail-oriented, able to follow directions, and demonstrate the ability to perform duties and make independent decisions under extreme pressure. News Department employees will be required to work holidays, nights, weekends, and during all modes of severe weather. Videographers are assigned company vehicles. It is their responsibility to ensure the vehicles are well-maintained.

Experience:

• Non-linear editing experience
• Conducting interviews

Requirements:

• Recording video and interviews
• Editing video to script
• Required availability for flexible shifts, including but not limited to overnight, weekends, and late evenings
• Valid Driver’s license and good driving record
• Ability to work in deadline-driven, fast-paced environments

Salary:

The base hourly compensation range for this role is $17.50 to $18.50 per hour. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate’s relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location.
