Qualifications

  • Understanding of AV sync, frame rates, resolutions and file management best practices.
  • Reliability in on-site studio environments and collaboration with hosts/producers.
  • Portfolio or reel demonstrating relevant work is highly beneficial.

Responsibilities

Role Description

The Videographer/Editor is a part-time, on-site role based in Los Angeles, CA. This role is responsible for planning and capturing video for podcast episodes, including setting up cameras, lighting, and audio-visual equipment in the studio or on location. Day-to-day tasks include operating cameras during recordings, managing shot composition, monitoring technical quality, and coordinating with the production team to ensure smooth sessions. The Videographer/Editor will also edit video content for full episodes, clips, and promotional materials, applying color correction, basic motion graphics, and sound sync for multiple platforms. Additional responsibilities include organizing media files, maintaining equipment, and contributing creative ideas to improve the visual identity of the podcast.

Qualifications
  • Strong skills in video production, including planning shoots and managing overall visual workflows.
  • Proficient camera operation skills, including experience with professional or prosumer camera systems.
  • Ability to handle lighting setups, including basic studio lighting and practical on-location lighting.
  • Experience shooting video in live or semi-live environments, especially interviews or podcast-style formats.
  • Competence in video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar) and basic color correction.
  • Understanding of audio/video synchronization, frame rates, resolutions, and file management best practices.
  • Strong attention to detail, reliability in an on-site studio environment, and ability to work collaboratively with hosts and producers.
  • Previous work on podcast, interview, or talk-show formats is a plus; a portfolio or reel demonstrating relevant work is highly beneficial.
