Job summary

Grace Church in Eden Prairie is seeking a full-time Videographer to join the Communications Department. You will plan, film, edit and deliver video content for Sundays and special events, as well as church-wide communications.

The ideal candidate combines storytelling with strong technical skills, proficiency in Premiere Pro, After Effects, and DaVinci Resolve, and the ability to collaborate with ministry teams to meet deadlines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, video production or filmmaking.
• 2+ years of experience in video editing or digital storytelling.
• Proficiency with professional cameras, lighting, audio equipment, and editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, DaVinci Resolve, or similar tools.
• Strong understanding of composition, lighting, sound, pacing, and visual storytelling.
• Ability to translate ministry goals into clear and engaging video concepts.
• Strong organizational, communication, and project-management skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.

Responsibilities

• Maintain video files, archives, footage, licenses and digital assets.

• Provide video support for Sundays, events and weekend services.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Videographer is part of the Communications Department at Grace Church and is tasked with creating compelling video content. This role is responsible for planning, filming, editing and delivering videos for all Sundays and special events, and church-wide communications. The ideal candidate combines creative storytelling with strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a heart for serving the church. This position reports to the Sr. Director of Communications and works in partnership with the Director of Creative Arts.

• Collaborate with ministry and communications team on the development and production of creative video projects that support the mission and vision of church priorities.
• Film and edit testimonies, promotional videos, event recaps, ministry stories and social media videos.
• Capture high-quality video and audio in studio, worship, event and on location settings.
• Coordinate pre-production process for video projects to ensure production is executed efficiently and professionally, including coordination of all interviews / on-site video shoots and set design. (use of lighting, sets, furniture and font packages).
• Direct and build creative elements for all “special” video projects, including new series branding/bumpers and social media-specific elements.
• Display strong time management skills with attention to deadlines.
• Display strong graphic design and animation skills, with an understanding of Adobe Creative Cloud. Must be highly proficient in Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop and Illustrator, as well as any additional software tools deemed necessary in the future.
• Organize and maintain video files, project archives, footage, music licenses and digital assets.
• Maintain cameras, lighting, audio equipment and related video production tools.
• Manage multiple projects and deadlines while actively communicating with team members.
• Provide video support for Sundays, special events, holidays, and weekend services as needed.
• Safely transport, set up, tear down, and properly store equipment, including valuable production equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

PROFESSIONAL AND SPIRITUAL EXPECTATIONS:

• Education Required: Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in marketing, communications, video production or filmmaking.
• 2+ years of experience in video editing or digital storytelling.
• Proficiency with professional cameras, lighting, audio equipment, and editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, DaVinci Resolve, or similar tools.
• Strong understanding of composition, lighting, sound, pacing, and visual storytelling.
• Ability to translate ministry goals into clear and engaging video concepts.
• Strong organizational, communication, and project-management skills.
• Ability to receive feedback and collaborate effectively with staff, volunteers, and ministry leaders.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Preferred Qualifications: Other certificates or specialty training related to video production (animation, graphic design, etc.).
• A portfolio or video reel demonstrating relevant experience preferred.
• Experience in a church, ministry, nonprofit, or live-production environment is beneficial.
• Exhibits a meaningful and growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior as evidenced by the manifestation of the fruit of the Holy Spirit.
• Has demonstrated skills in relating to and collaborating with people, especially volunteers, church staff, the congregation and others, within a team environment.
• Has demonstrated a spiritual capacity and heart-willingness to view this ministry as being a ministry unto the Lord, by serving the body of Grace Church.
