Job summary

University of Wisconsin–Madison is seeking a Storytelling and Documentary Project Assistant to record sessions, capture narratives, and craft short pieces about AI in organizations. You will work closely with a founder and a marketing teammate, bringing journalistic instincts to life on camera and with on-site and remote tasks.

The role centers on shaping narrative, delivering clips, transcripts, and notes within five days, and collaborating on future episodes for LinkedIn and video.

Qualifications

• Portfolio of prior shooting and editing showing how you bring a story to life.
• Background in journalism, communication arts, film and digital cinema.
• Experience in reporting or documenting workplace stories is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Record sessions as scheduled.
• Run the recording room and manage on-camera privacy as needed.
• Deliver raw footage, transcripts, captioned clips, stills, and notes within five days.
• Help shape the story by identifying what is interesting and what isn’t.
