Job summary

The Summit Area YMCA in Summit, New Jersey, seeks a creative Videographer & Visual Storyteller to capture people, programs and experiences that bring our mission to life. You’ll produce video and photography for social media, website, and campaigns, working with the Marketing team to tell powerful community stories.

This part-time role (20–25 hours per week, on-site with occasional evenings) requires a portfolio, hands-on editing, and the ability to travel between SAY locations.

Qualifications

• Two years hands-on video production, editing and visual storytelling preferred.
• A portfolio demonstrating video production, editing and storytelling skills is required with a link in resume/cover letter.
• Ability to capture high-quality video, photography and audio with strong composition, lighting and sound.
• Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro; After Effects/Photoshop a plus.
• Strong understanding of social media content formats and publishing tools (Instagram, Facebook).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; coordinate with staff and make participants comfortable on camera.
• Strong organizational skills; manage projects, meet deadlines and incorporate feedback.
• Knowledge of digital asset management, file organization and export settings for different platforms.

Responsibilities

• Capture high-quality video, photography and audio across SAY branches, programs and events.
• Collaborate with Marketing to identify stories and coordinate shoots.
• Conduct interviews with members, staff, volunteers and donors.
• Edit content for different audiences and channels with captions and accessibility.
• Write supporting copy and publish approved content with Marketing.
• Manage deadlines and keep assets organized.
